National security questionnaire confusing question?

In the "people who know you well" section, there is a portion where it says "Dates Known." underneath it says" month/year to month/year." What is with the second month/year? Is that supposed to be when they stopped knowing me? That doesn't make sense........ If the person still knows me, what am I supposed to put for that?
